File Under: Things I Want/Improving My Space
Campaign furniture is now all the rage on the blogosphere and now I must have it. Campaign style generally refers to any type of furniture that can be easily disassembled and moved, but is commonly associated with high quality portable furniture used by British Army officers during the 18th and 19th centuries. The brass corner fixtures are a hallmark of this style (important both for practicality and aesthetic value.)
Also, it is very pretty and it looks awesome when you paint it fun colors like Kelly green and polish up the brass so it is very very shiny. And I need a nightstand (and probably a new coffee table), so it seems like less of a “want” and more of a “need”. There, justified.
See here and here and here and here and here for examples. Read the wiki here. (photo from Lonny magazine)
Edit: Apparently Apartment Therapy also had the idea to do a roundup of campaign style furniture yesterday.
